Forty per cent of Canadian industries are \u201chighly vulnerable\u201d to external demand and\u00a0supply shocks<\/a>, Statistics Canada says.\u00a0 The federal statistic agency said on Friday those industries, which account for 25 per cent of Canada\u2019s economic output, are exposed to risks in global supply chains.<\/p>\n The pace of new home construction climbed 14 per cent in February compared to the previous month,\u00a0Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp. said<\/a> on Friday, but the industry continues to struggle under cost pressures.<\/p>\n Canada\u2019s employers are still hiring, but not enough to keep the unemployment rate from rising<\/a> amid a rapidly growing population, Statistics Canada said Friday.<\/p>\n The Canadian Chamber of Commerce says it is seriously concerned Canadian businesses weren\u2019t able to testify on proposed federal artificial intelligence legislation<\/a>.
